There are two more weeks in the season of Epiphany, so we continue with an introit and response to the benediction that calls our attention to the time of year. Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise continues this seasonal theme, while reminding us of the Lord’s steadfast love: we may blossom and flourish, or wither and perish, “but naught changeth Thee.” Sing Praise To God (Psalm 68) brings the Scripture reading from Joel into focus, reminding us that as His inheritance, we are sons and daughters of the Lord. Throughout worship today, notice how the hymns skillfully weave together themes such as justification by grace and imputed righteousness, and bring us again to the eternal hope we have through Jesus Christ.
