Here’s a demo of a psalm setting written for Parish Presbyterian Church.
Psalm 20 (STAR POINTER)
Text: Psalm 20:1-9, Edward Collier, Lyrics from the Psalter, 1907, alt. Henry C. Haffner, 2021.
Music: STAR POINTER, Henry C. Haffner, 2021.
The Lord ever hear you when troubles are near;
The name of our God keep you safe from all fear.
The Lord send you help; from His temple proclaim
That He’ll out of Zion your weakness sustain.
May He all the gifts of your love keep in mind,
And all of your offerings acceptable find;
May He ever grant you the wish of your heart,
Fulfill all your yearning, and wisdom impart.
For joy in salvation we’ll shout to His praise:
In God’s holy name all our banners we’ll raise.
The Lord who has saved be your confidence still,
And all your petitions in mercy fulfill.
Some trust in their chariots prepared for the fray,
And some in their horses the foe to dismay,
But we will make mention of one only name;
The Lord God almighty, we’ll ever acclaim.
Our foes are bowed down and are fallen at length,
While we have arisen and stand in Your strength.
O, Lord save the king! For You rule over all;
Give blessing and answer whenever we call!
