Our Faith

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inerrant Word Of God. They are our only rule in faith and practice. While we believe the Westminster Confession of Faith and its catechisms are the best summary of biblical truth, they are subordinate to the Bible. Further, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of His people by grace through faith. Feel free to ask further about our beliefs, creeds, and calling when visiting! Our congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

Our Worship Service

As you walk into the building, grab a bulletin. It will guide you through our service with printed readings and songs. Sit anywhere you would like, and if the room is full, then a volunteer will help you find a place to sit. A pastor will open the service and tell you when to stand and when to sit.

The worship service walks through the gospel. It opens with an invitation and a call to worship. The King opens his gates and beckons us. We respond with a hymn and a Psalm. Music and joy are vital to Christianity, and you will hear music punctuating our worship. Next comes a Scripture reading that is related to the sermon, followed by more singing and the text for the sermon. A pastor will preach from the Bible, and we respond by confessing our sin and hearing the good news of forgiveness from God’s word. We then profess the Christian faith as a congregation. All baptized Christians will then come to the Lord’s table to take bread and wine as a sign and seal of God’s grace. Prayer and benediction then send us out into the world.

The joy of the Lord is our strength. At the same time, we are to be full of reverence and awe in the presence of God. Our worship is full of Scripture: we are called by God’s word, sing God’s word, preach God’s word, pray God’s word, and see God’s word in bread, wine, and water. We lean upon God in the ordinary means of grace he has given, and we do it as a congregation.

Musically speaking, we sing Psalms, hymns, and songs accompanied mainly by strings and piano. We intentionally pull from a variety of historical settings and we do a fair amount of composing and writing as well.

Please browse our bulletins here.

Further, we believe that worship is the primary means of Christian discipleship.

From worship flows all other gospel activity.

Children In Worship

While worshiping with us you may notice a little wiggling and murmuring. These are what Charles Spurgeon once called, “the sweet sights and sounds of a holy hubbub.” As our children learn to worship alongside their parents, siblings, and covenant family, things may get just a little distracting. We embrace this call as parents and as a congregation to balance the “holy hubbub” with being sensitive to others.

“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:

for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14).

Nursery

We provide a nursery for children from birth through 36 months in part because we understand that training takes time and that a break can help! Rather than an escape from worship, we view the nursery as a way to minister to families while they learn to worship together.
