One of the best ways to connect is to serve alongside each other.
The role of a deacon is one of sympathy and service for both people and property. Though we will not “deacon” perfectly, we trust that God will use sinful men to His glory and to the great comfort of His people. Further, we often appoint and commission non-ordained leaders, both men and women, to serve and bless the body at Parish.
Below are several teams who selflessly use their gifts among us. If you would like to serve, please contact the office to get connected.
The Meal Team supports the covenant community in times of transition, grief, or celebration by providing meals. Simply providing food prepared in love to a brother or sister in need is becoming a lost art, but one that we joyfully maintain! Let the office know you would like to join the team!
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.—Galatians 6:2
The Altar Guild prepares the house of the Lord for worship according to the church calendar, and it assists the diaconate with the beautification of the grounds. Do you love to sew, bake bread, or arrange flowers? Do you have a flower garden that you would be willing to share? Let us know!
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence,
if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. —Philippians 4:8-9 ESV
The Hospitality Team aids the diaconate by providing the congregation with opportunities to build relationships through planning events such as potlucks, bonfires, baby showers, and more. If you love serving alongside others please let us know.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and the prayers.—Acts 2:42 ESV
